The word shocked is an understatement. Temple (TX) running back Lache Seastrunk had his choice of colleges to suit up for. Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, USC and all the major players were knocking on his door. When it came to decision time, the 5’11, 192-pound star surprised us all.
Seastrunk picked a school that really wasn’t on the radar until late into the signing period. He’s heading west to Eugene to play for the Oregon Ducks.
One of the best running backs in the state of Texas over the last 3 years, Seastrunk quickly became an internet sensation around the country. A combination of speed and quickness made every Friday night the Lache Show. It didn’t take long for colleges to start lining up for his services.
It appeared he was ticketed to be a Trojan, but coaching changes at USC led Seastrunk to Oregon instead. Needless to say, this makes Chip Kelly’s 2010 class the best in school history.
So Seastrunk will now display his Lone Star talents in the Pac-10 on Saturdays. Having seen this kid on the field myself, they’re in for a treat. I saw him make moves that seemed impossible, yet he made it look easy. This is one Duck that won’t be sitting quietly on the pond.
