The Cowboys offense is riding high.
It was another big night for Brandon Weeden, who passed for 409 yards and 6 touchdowns. Justin Blackmon was on the receiving end of 3 of the scoring strikes as Oklahoma State set a school record for total offense in the 65-28 win over Tulsa.
Weeden hit Blackmon with an 81-yard TD pass, the 6th-longest pass play in school history. Weeden completed 23 of 32 passes.
The teams combined for 1,150 yards of offense, including 722 by OSU, breaking the school record of 717 set against Kansas in 1988 during Barry Sanders’ Heisman Trophy season.
Blackmon continues to have a standout season. His number against Tulsa: 6 catches for 174 yards and now has 9 TD’s on the year.
OSU is 3-0 for the 19th time and the 4th time in 6 seasons under head coach Mike Gundy.
It should be fun to see if the Pokes continue to put up numbers like this once Big 12 play begins.
